Farewell, My baby...

27 March, 2009

It's 4am in the morning, I woke up to pee and as usual I can feel blood dripping and blood clog...
This time, Baby cord came out and I yelled for hubby to call the gynae and I know my baby is definitely gone this time... Gynae did a scan for me and baby heartbeat was still there but slow, meaning he's going to leave us anytime.... Gynae told me cervix is about 1cm open and contractions will start most probably in the afternoon.

I was warded to the hospital room at about 5am and every 3 hourly nurse will come in to insert pills to my vaginal to let contractions happen fast so that I wont be in misery... Knowing what will happen and waiting for it to happen is miserable and painful. 2 Bags of anti-biotic was injected at different timing and I was shivering each time when it was injected, it's so cold that I need 3 blanket to cover me...

9am... 12pm... 3pm... 6pm... 9pm...10pm... Contractions started at about 11pm
I can feel something is coming out, I felt terrible, fear, despair and in pain...
Hubby was with me all this while, the contractions pain is killing me and I refused to take the painkiller offered by the nurses. Hubby witness everything, it's very horrifying for him to witness the whole procedure and my groaning (nearly screaming) with excruciating pain is stabbing his heart with pain ... Gynae arrived at about 11.30pm and she tried to help me to pull out my baby head but it's simply too painful and I shouted at her to stop...

I was pushed to B1, operating theater for cleaning operation, I was put on local anesthesia. While waiting for the gynae I can feel that baby is out and follow by a "POP" sound and I can feel lots of blood flowing out...

Hubby told me nurses push me up at about 2am, I woke up at 5am and hubby is sleeping and I din want to wake him up. He's exhausted. 15 mins later, nurse came in to check on me and asking me to try to pee and I did. Gynae came in at about 8am to check on me and I asked her for my baby... She told me the nurses will bring in for me after my breakfast.

I cried my heart out when my gynae left...
Nurse came in with a blue strip box with a label with my name on it...
I saw my baby little fingers, feet, mouth, nose, ears... tears rolled down my face. I did a little prayer for him...

It was so difficult to be in the hospital seeing other people with happy faces welcoming their newborn babies.

Dear friend, thank you for your concern. I will need more time to tell you guys I am fine but now I'm not.

The head of deputy director of nursing gave me a book "Farewell, my child" when I discharge from the hospital and she handed us her namecard and told me I can call or sms her anytime if I need someone to talk to. I would like to share the following with everyone, it's from the book.

What will I say? - by Linda Sawley

I won't say I know how you feel - because I don't.
She've lost parents, granparents, aunts and uncle, friends. But she've never lost a child. She came close, once. She had a miscarriage, but it's not the same. So how can I say I know how you feel?

I won't say you'll get over it - because you won't.
Life will have to go on. The washing, the ironing, the cooking, the cleaning, the command round. These chores will take your mind off your loved one, but the hurt will still be there. A small corner of your heart will grieve forever. Life carries on, but it will never be quite the same.

I wont say "Never mind, your other children will be a comfort to you - because they may not be.
Many mothers She've talked to say that they easily lose their temper with their remaining children. Some even feel resentful that they're alive and healthy, when the other child is not. Children can be cruel too. They may not understand death.

I won't say "Never mind, you're still young to have another baby" - because that wont help.
A new baby cannot replace the one you've lost. A new baby will fill your hours, keep you busy, and give you sleepness nights. But it will not be the one you've lost. And you mustn't try to pretend it will.

You may hear all these and other platitudes from your friends and relatives. They think they are helping. They don't know what else to say. You will find out who are your true friends at this time. Many will avoid you because they can't face you. They'll cross the road to avoid talking to you. Otherss will make effort to talk to you. They'll talk about the weather, the holidays, the school concert, but never about your child - never about you and how you are coping.

So what will I say?
I will say I'm here. I care. Anytime. Anywhere.
I'll cry with you if need be.
I'll talk about your loved one.
I wont mind how long you grieve.
I won't tell you to pull yourself together.
I'll sit with you during birthday and anniversaries.

No, I don't know how you feel - but with sharing perhaps I will learn a little of what you are going through. And perhaps you will feel comfortable with me, and find your burden has eased.

18-21 March

sob... amniotic fluid is now almost nil...

18 March,2009 evening about 7pm having my dinner, after dinner I stood up and I can feel a gush of liquid gush out from my vaginal and so I quickly head to the washroom to check and found out it's actually water leaking. I quickly inform hubby to call my gynae and he quickly send me to the hospital. On our way there, even in lying position the water is still leaking .... The parking system at thomson medical is really a disaster, cars are q'ing to get into the carpark and hubby was telling the valet parking emergency and the parking officer was said nono... parking full, park at other carpark... -____-" No choice, hubby got to drop me first.

I head to the 24h clinic at TMC to register myself and waiting for my gynae to arrive. Amniotic fluid is still leaking non-stop... Gynae arrived and confirm that it's amniotic fluid leaking and it's not looking good. Scanning was done as well, baby was curling up due to low amniotic fluid. Gynae was tellng me that water bag has broke, next will be follow by a very bad cramp and .... (T-T) I was again, given a hormoes jab on my butt and was warded to the room. It was already 10pm++, nurse came in to poke me with needle at the back of my palm with anti-biotics every 6 hours.

I was having a very bad cramp from about 11pm - 3am... Hubby informed the nurse and nurse called my gynae... I was then given pain-killer and fall asleep from 4am - 5am... (T-T) I have to pee lying on my bed using the peeing "equipment" in the hospital, brushing of teeth as well. Nurse came in at about 630am to inject me and gynae came in at about 8am to check on me and informing me that there will be a scan at about 10am to check how's the baby doing. During the scan the ultrascan technician was so quiet, question we asked, was like ignored... The scan did not turn out well, it was bad....very bad.... Gynae came in in the afternoon to explain the report and hinting to let go... there's also bleeding... more this time...

The hourly anti-biotics is giving me rashes all over my body, I was given medicine but rashes was back again at about 2am... and a jab later on... which is freaking paniful...

21 March, 2009

Hubby was with me 24/7 and he have to helped me with everything... He had only a few hours of sleep this few day >.< Another detailed scan was done yesterday morning, 20 March'2009, during the scan baby is still moving, he's playing with his little feet and from the report it show amniotic fluid is ALMOST NIL (T-T). Baby kidney, brain, heart, strong heartbeat, growth is prefectly normal but without the amniotic fluid .................
Waterbag can never be heal unless there's miracle.

I can be discharge tomorrow as there's no point for me to stay in the hospital but to wait.
But still, I have to come back twice to thrice a week for injection... The minimum is 24 weeks to deliver the baby but baby will be under ICU and might not be healthy... I will be only 19 weeks tomorrow, 5 more weeks to hit 24 weeks... Can the baby hang on?

Thank you all for your concern, prayers, encouragement, visits and gifts... My Hubby, parents, relatives, friends., boss, clg...

I will be strong and I must be strong. As long as the baby is alive I will keep going no matter what. Thank you hubby for supporting my decision :)

Dear god, please, I need a miracle ....

Follow up

It's jab day today~ Gynae was on leave today but she still came back for me ^^
Did a ultrasound scan and today gynae used a little equipment and place it on my tummy to let us hear bb heartbeat. It's amazing and it's beating fast :) Gynae was suggesting to push forward my detailed scan to next Wednesday, which I will be in my 19 weeks 6 days. She arrange the head of fetal something to do the detail scan for me... that will be additional S$60.00 which total it cost us S$170.00...

When I first discover bleeding on 28 Feb'09 there was also another lady at the 24h clinic at TMC as well. We are both 4 months plus and same gynae so gynae was telling me today that the lady was warded as her water was leaking and no choice she will have to abort the baby >.< Sobsob (T-T)

After the consultation with my Gynae, it's jab time... this time it's water base as they've run out of oil base... water base jab makes my butt more achy... -_-" Luckily, sweet hubby place a warm towel and massage it for me when we reach home to prevent the blue black :)
8 more days to next Wednesday >.< I'm so bloody anxious....

I have taken 5 days of MC + 4 weeks of hospitlisation leave till now... :(

Bedrest time if not hubby gona send me to stay in hospital so no computer for me... bleah...

A lazy Sunday

Woke up at about 7.35am today as I can feel a little cramp in my tummy area... but continue to sleep till 9.30am and woke hubby up to make me breakfast... There's a saying: "a hungry woman is a angry women"! and... OMG.... Hubby made me enfamama chocolate milk... Gosh... the smell now makes me want to puke... I drank some of the milk and my face started to change to "stormy weather".

Mum's sms me that food will be ready at 11.00am so Hubby sent me over to Mum's place first as he's going to the IT show with Clifford. During the journey to Mum's place my face is BLACK and moody... so... poor hubby have to tolerate =x He sent me up to Mummy place and bid goodbye but... I insist he come in to hug me before he go... -_-" ok... I know what you are thinking... Ultimate Spoiltbrat! Well, hubby did and suddendly I vomitted, luckily I'm in time to grab the plastic bag from my bag and hubby still peek in the plastic bag to check what did I vomitted... gross... By the way, It's the milk that makes me puke! Good thing is Hubby won't force me to take the milk now... phew... ^^

Hubby left and now it's Mummy turn to watch over me... Mummy was very sweet that she specially bought pears from the market just for me... ^^ Whenever I got up from the sofa she will ask me to walk slowly... careful... Always checking whether I need her to turn on the fan so on... I love you Mummy :) Hubby called and said he's not going to the IT show as the queue was O.M.G ridiculous... so he drop Clifford first then came to pick me up from Mum's place.

Angie called asking me whether I've taken my Dinner as her MIL cooked some soup and she wanted to bring it over, feel so bad that she always run here and there for me >.<. Thank you girl, I really appreciate everything that you've helped me.
Received my wedding album from Ben today, there's 2 coffee table album still pending as i submitted my selection of photo late. It should be ready in April/May'09. Hope it turn out nice ^^

Have been taking hormone pill and jab all for about 3 weeks already and am going crazy soon...
I break down more easily and there's no sign or warning if I were to vomit.... arghhhhhhh....

Alrighty, I wana thanks my Hubby, Mum, Karen and Angie ^^ Love you all =D keke...

Wait is all I can do now as bb is only 18 weeks, can't see kidney yet so have to wait for detailed scan on the 20weeks. Gynae was telling me she's worried that it might be due to bb kidney issue.... please... no.... >.< Again, wait... wait and wait.... argh...

Reached TMC at 11.30am today, can't wait to see how's bb doing.
I'm having a slight fever and flu, all thanks to the crazy weather :(
17 weeks 3 days into my pregnancy today...
During the scan, water in water bag slightly increase a little and bb is moving quite frequently today and we can see bb face ^^ Gyane took 4 shot of bb which consist of bb face, butt, leg and head. BB is growing fine, thank god ^^
I really hope spotting will go away soon if not I won't be able to work soon and my 2 weeks of hospitalisation leave will increase >.<

During all this time, I will be easily irritated and gets frustrated for no reason =x
Thankfully, my very patient and supporting Hubby and thoughtful Mum tried to make everything as comfortable as possible.

Alrighty, it's bed time! My brain is not functioning well today :S
Plenty of things in my mind but I just can't seem to type it all out... keke...

Rainy day

Received a long SMS from Karen this morning telling me more on amniotic fluid and how fluid is passes from circulatory system into the amniotic sac, what to eat more, what to do, what not to do and so on and so on... She's my information advisor... ^^ Karen will be dropping over my place tomorrow evening to pass me her DS, hurray! I can play mario and time will pass faster ^^

As usual, stuck on the bed playing bubble breaker, MSN, net surfing on my handphone, phew... I'm glad Hubby got me the Omnia, it's a wise choice!

Raining cats and dogs this afternoon and only subsided in the evening... Cooling day, catalyst to my ever lethargic body, I slept immediately when Hubby switch off the lights and went off to work at about 4 o'clock.

Angie + her MIL + Marco the maltese visited me at about 9.45pm. Angie made me tiramisu and aunite made me "Hei Lou Mi" and Marco pee and poo around my living room... lol...

Tiramisu specially made without alcohol and little caffeine ^^

Auntie went to my kitchen while I was in the living room and I saw her washing the dishes *__*
I feel bad about it >.<

I will be seeing the Gynae at 12:30pm tomorrow and a hormones jab on my butt again. >.<
I am very relief that spotting have gradually reduced since the last jab and I hope it will go away soon! ./shoo shoo
Hubby & I have been talking to the bb more frequently this few days and am eager to see the ultrasound scan tomorrow and hope that everything will be alright :)

1. Bitter ground Soup + quil egg + mushroom + pork
2. Seafood Bee Hoon
3. Steam cod-fish

It was Aurora 1 year anniversary with her boyfriend yday, knowing my "rotting situation" she still specially drop by my place to see how am I doing and to pass me 4 books, books by Dan brown & Sophie Sinsella. Day 7 of rotting

Visited the Gynae today and bb heartbeat and movement can be seen from the ultrasound scan equipment.Good thing is placenta is not that low, bad thing is... water bag doesn't seem to have sufficient water and space for bb to move around. Gynae did a test for me and confirm that the water bag isn't leaking but we do not understand why is it that the water in the water bag seem so low. It will affect the bb growth and it's not healthy to see low water level in the water bag and there's possibility of mis-******* . Tears roll down my face (T-T) I was given 2 weeks hospitalization leave and a jab on my butt, this time the nurse at ACJ did a way better job compared to the previous nurse at the 24h TMC clinic. Next jab will be on next Tuesday then Friday, next Tuesday then Friday till bleeding stop and water in water bag level regain to normal. For now, gyane advice... to rot in bed and take plenty of fluid and milk + Dydrogesterone tablet thrice a day...

Gynae tried to see bb gender but this time bb is in cross leg position that's why can't see bb gender today. I asked Hubby whether does he wants me to stay in hospital instead of home today... Reason being, hospital can take care of my food so that Hubby will not have to be so busy and headache on what to prepare as he still have to work... He negelected his work for the past 1 week and I felt so bad about it (T-T) Another option will be staying over at my Mum's place but Hubby cant be there with me all the time due to his work schedule and Mum will be working which means I will be alone (T-T)

For my next jab and follow up next Tuesday I pray that everything will be fine...
BB you have to be strong and healthy!

It's rotting time again... Take care everyone :)

Day 6 of rotting . . .

Finally remember to take pic of my breakfast prepared by my hubby today... hehe...
I didn't notice that he actually removed the bread skin for me until he told me =x

Ta da~ Wholemeal bread with cheese, egg & ham...

Mum smsed me at about 2 pm today to inform me that Lunch is ready ^^ I've packed some of the food back as well for dinner... xD

Here it's;

1. Ginger chicken + pork with mushroom
2. Some kind of Fish =x
3. Some Kind of veggie with prawns =x
4. Some kind of green leafty veggie with prawns =x

Took a short nap after my yummy lunch with Hubby joining me :P

Have been having difficulties sleeping this few days, can't sleep on my back if not it will ache the next morning, if I sleep on my right my breathing seem to be deeper, left side doesn't seem to make me comfortable as well... -_-"

During pregnancy, it's recommend to sleep on your left as it improves the flow of blood and nutrients to the placenta and it helps your kidneys efficiently eliminate waste products and fluids from your body. That, in turn, reduces swelling in your ankles, feet, and hands.

16 weeks & 5 days into my pregnancy today and will be seeing my Gynae tomorrow, I'm looking forward to the ultrasound scan and praying that the bleeding will stop and hopefully I am allow to walk and do some light exercise soon! 4 months already, so far gain only about 2-2.5kg and Hubby is very worried as he told me he read up quite a few website on pregnancy that normally pregnant women should gain about 4-5kg by the 4th months... Gynae is in trobule tomorrow as Hubby have got tons of question to ask her tomorrow... hehehe...

I hope that the follow up/check-up for tomorrow will be fine. Amen.

Bless you :)

I've already planned how to go over to Mum's place tomorrow as I was banned from walking much... TROLLEY! Hubby will have to push me from home to Mum's place... =x Over-doing it?
Hmmm... I'll be extreme careful and take extreme pre-caution rather then staying in the hospital >.<

Day 4 of rotting

Boo... Day 4 of rotting, it's miserable >.<
No walking... No Exercising... Cant carry heavy Stuff...

This morning Hubby prepared my breakfast as usual, egg with cheese and bread + milo. It's a simple breakfast yet it really warmed my heart ^^. At about 10.45am, Hubby sent Whisky for grooming, after that he went to civil center NTUC to shop for ingredients for my lunch. He also bought a book call "Before, During & After Pregnancy". 1st thing he did was to put down the grocery and prepared my organic soya milk and bring to my bed side, so sweet ^^ Love you hubby <3

A big thank you to my Hubby who have been taking care of me intensively these few days. His dark circle is getting more and more obvious >.<

He's busy in the kitchen preparing my lunch now... There will be;

1. Lean pork soup with white fungus and dried black mushroom,
2. Steam cod fish,
3. Green leafty veggie

yummy... The smell from the kitchen is making me drool already... xD

Suddenly remember last year he prepared me my "fruit platter" as I was dieting... Here it is;

So, What's tomorrow lunch? hehe ^^

2 more days to go for my next visit to my Gynae, Dr Jocelyn Wong and I hope everything will be alright... praying hard >.<

Dear God, Thank you for everything.
Please blessed my Hubby, my unborn bb & my parents :D
