District 9 by Peter Jackson at CWP Cathay...

Dragged myself to work this morning... I'm so tired, as usual :P

Went to CWP after work for our movie session, today's tickets is only S$5+ each, thanks to the smart $ ^^ 7.40pm, Distric 9, M18 as there are some gross scene.... Eeeewww~ Hate queuing to purchase tickets at CWP cathay, it's a disaster~ Why must they mix the food and beverages and ticketing counter together, why can't they have individual counter? I was in the queue for about 20 minutes... Arghhhh... No idea why, I am quite pissed today...

What is the story about?

Set in South Africa, this movie is rumoured to be a "Cloverfield"-type sci-fi about an extraterrestrial race that is forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth and suddenly finds a friend in a government agent who is exposed to their biotechnology. Alien spacecrafts are seen hovering over many locations, interrupting daily human lives and raising concerns from the residents of the area. This film is also said to be a sort of social commentary, diverging from what you would usually expect from films featuring aliens.

"District 9" is a sentimental sci-fi about how ordinary men (or aliens, for that matter) end up doing extraordinary things when pushed to the edge, exposing the global hypocrisy of having set right and wrong in legal or moral terms. I will rate this movie 7/10~

Next show on our list will be... 嚇到笑 by Jack Neo...

  1. District 9 is way better than Cloverfield.... The latter has vomit inducing camera views and guarantee to deliver a serious hangover effect that last for hours....
